EHRI-UK Regional Placements

The EHRI-UK Placements are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students based in the UK looking to improve their employability and learn new skills whilst undertaking project work at museums, archives and charities. There are a variety of projects available each year that are of interest to students across the humanities, all relating in some way to the history of refugees from Nazi oppression and/or the Holocaust.

Each placement is designed for 150 hours of work spread over 6-10 weeks which is undertaken between late June and September (the exact details will be agreed between the host institution and the successful student). Upon successful completion of the placement, each student receives an honorarium.

The next call will open in Spring 2026.

Could your organisation help to enhance student employability, teach new skills and provide professional experience?

We are seeking organisations that hold Jewish refugee and Holocaust-related materials to host a 4–6-week student placement during Summer 2026. The project can relate to any of your organisations’ activities, including research, fundraising, communications and marketing, cataloguing, conservation or community engagement.
